Bookmark Installation Guide
These instructions will help you install and use the “Research Bookmarks” HTML bookmark file in Google Chrome. The file contains organized folders and links for tax lien, tax deed, auction, GIS, realtor, and research resources.
Installing Bookmarks on Google Chrome for Mac
Step 1: Download & Save the Bookmark File
- Download the provided bookmark file:
- Research Bookmarks.html
- Save it somewhere easy to find:
- Desktop
- Downloads folder
- Documents folder
Step 2: Open Google Chrome
- Launch Google Chrome on your Mac.
- Make sure you are signed into the correct Chrome profile/account if you use multiple profiles.
Step 3: Open the Bookmark Manager
- In Chrome’s top menu bar, click:
- Bookmarks → Bookmark Manager
OR
Use the keyboard shortcut:
- Option + Command + B
Step 4: Import the Bookmark File
- Inside Bookmark Manager:
- Click the three dots (⋮) in the upper-right corner.
- Select:
- Import Bookmarks
- Locate and select:
- Research Bookmarks.html
- Click:
- Open
Step 5: Access Your New Bookmarks
- Chrome will import the bookmark folder automatically.
- Look for:
- Research Bookmarks
- The folder will usually appear:
- In the Bookmarks Bar
- Or inside “Imported”
Step 6: Show the Bookmarks Bar (Recommended)
If the bookmarks bar is hidden:
- Click:
- View → Always Show Bookmarks Bar
OR
Use the shortcut:
- Shift + Command + B
Optional: Organize the Folder
You can:
- Drag the “Research Bookmarks” folder directly onto your Bookmarks Bar
- Rename folders
- Reorganize sections for your workflow
Installing Bookmarks on Google Chrome for Windows (PC)
Step 1: Download the Bookmark File
- Download:
- Research Bookmarks.html
- Save it somewhere easy to find:
- Downloads
- Desktop
- Documents
Step 2: Open Google Chrome
- Launch Chrome.
- Make sure you are signed into the correct Chrome profile/account.
Step 3: Open Bookmark Manager
- Click the three dots (⋮) in the top-right corner of Chrome.
- Go to:
- Bookmarks and Lists → Bookmark Manager
OR
Use the keyboard shortcut:
- Ctrl + Shift + O
Step 4: Import the Bookmark File
- In Bookmark Manager:
- Click the three dots (⋮) in the upper-right corner.
- Select:
- Import Bookmarks
- Locate:
- Research Bookmarks.html
- Click:
- Open
Step 5: Locate Your Imported Bookmarks
- Chrome will automatically import the folder.
- Look for:
- Research Bookmarks
- It may appear:
- On the Bookmarks Bar
- Or inside an “Imported” folder
Step 6: Show the Bookmarks Bar (Recommended)
If the bookmarks bar is not visible:
- Click:
- Chrome Menu (⋮) → Bookmarks and Lists → Show Bookmarks Bar

Use the shortcut:
- Ctrl + Shift + B
Tips for Best Use
This bookmark file includes organized folders for:
- Auction sites
- GIS/property research
- Realtor platforms
- Google Maps/Earth tools

- Insurance resources
- Ongoing county research folders
Examples include:
- Google Maps
- Google Earth
- Zillow
- RealAuction
For best workflow:
- Keep the Bookmarks Bar visible
- Expand only the folders you use regularly
- Add state- or county-specific folders under “Current Research”
